You will receive comprehensive quality and customized care in our office by our team.
The health of your teeth and mouth are critical to the well-being of your entire body. Even though routine home oral care is necessary to keep your smile looking its best, it is very important to visit our office at least every six months, or as recommended by Dr. Kasper and Dr. Sparkes, for your comprehensive exam and cleaning.
Crowns are a cosmetic restoration procedure used to strengthen a tooth or improve its shape and are cemented onto an existing tooth that is broken, worn or partially decayed, around the gum line. Crowns or partial crowns, also referred to as onlays, are needed when there is insufficient tooth strength to hold a filling.
Unfortunately, there are times when removing a tooth (or several teeth) is necessary—such as in the case of an infection, orthodontic correction, or problems with wisdom teeth.
When it is determined that a tooth needs to be removed, Dr. Kasper or Dr. Sparkes may extract the tooth at that time or may schedule another visit for this procedure.
Traditional dental fillings are most often made of silver amalgam, a strong and durable material. Newer dental fillings, including ceramic and plastic compounds that simulate the appearance of natural teeth, are more aesthetically pleasing and are commonly used on the front teeth where a natural appearance is important.
If you continuously wake up with jaw pain, earaches or headaches, or if you find yourself clenching or grinding your teeth, you may have a common condition called bruxism. Stress, sleeping issues, an abnormal bite, and crooked or missing teeth may contribute to bruxism.
Sports guards can help prevent injuries to the teeth and mouth. These guards should be used during any sport or activity that puts your teeth and mouth at risk. Custom-fit, these mouthguards are comfortable and do not inhibit breathing or speech.
Root canals are a relatively simple procedure performed by your general dentist or endodontist (a dentist who specializes in issues nerves) that can save a tooth with a diseased nerve. Best of all, having a root canal when necessary can save your tooth and your smile!
Scaling and root planing is one of the most effective non-surgical ways to treat gum disease, as it cleans the gums and the teeth down to the roots.
Scaling is the process of removing bacteria and hard deposits from teeth surfaces, and root planing is the process of smoothing the root surfaces and removing any infected tooth structure.
